RNLI Water Safety

Thank you to Nenagh Tourist office for inviting our classes to a talk from the RNLI.
We learned some really vital water safety information;
 1. STOP and THINK- check weather forecast before going out on a boat, check for a lifeguard at the beach and where the safe to swim flags are.
2. STAY TOGETHER- always remain close to family, friends or your teacher, don’t wander off or swim alone.
3. FLOAT to LIVE – we practised the starfish position on our back with our nose and mouth facing up.
We also learned about the importance of life jackets and how to throw a buoy into the water , we learned about hypothermia , rip currents and how to call the emergency services.
What a fantastic educational  talk and especially just before the summer months when many of the boys will be near or in water.
