After weeks of preparation, our Junior infants and Chatty Kids class were officially welcomed into our Community National School. We were joined by parents, grandparents and our Tipperary ETB Ethos Co-ordinator Siobhán Landers. Our first Welcoming ceremony saw Mr. D’Arcy talk about the importance of welcoming this group of children into our school community. Calling the roll is a very important part of our school day and Ms. Darcy and Ms. Moloney called every child’s name and the children sang a song called ” I have a Name”.
The older children in our school, our 4th class children joined in our ceremony and explained how they lead by example modelling our core values of Respect , Equality, Care, Community and Excellence in Education. The 4th class children recited a poem called ‘Welcome to our School”. Our children sang some Christmas songs and Mr.D’Arcy concluded our ceremony by presenting each child with a certificate.
