Thank you to Déaran and Niall from Nenagh Fire Station who gave a really important ‘Fire Safety’ talk to 3rd class today.
They showed us their ‘pager’ that signals an emergency and spoke about the importance of eircodes. For homework they asked the class  to find out their eircode and try to learn it ( I was very impressed that some boys already know theirs!) They also asked the boys to check that their home has at least two smoke detectors and showed them how to test that they are working.
We were shown their breathing apparatus and learned about their thermal imaging camera. They spoke about the dangers of charging electrical devices at night time and what to do if the smoke alarm goes off, especially during the night .
It was such an informative talk and well done to all the boys who had so many questions for the two speakers.
